LIFESTYLE | Little Things #5

Sorry for the selfie! I have no shame, I know. This is a kind of close up of my sparkly H&M necklace that I bought a little while ago, I wore it to my work's Christmas do and it definitely made me feel all Christmassy! I'm usually very minimalist when it comes to jewellery but there's just something so festive about statement jewels that I just can't resist.

Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil (what is it with these skincare products and their long ass names?) was bought on a complete whim whilst in Boots, I dunno why I picked it up but I'm sure glad I did. It has it's cons, for example there's no pump so I have to be extra careful getting the product out and also the smell is like floor cleaner or something, very citrus-y which I'm not a big fan of. However the pros more than make up for them, my skin feels so lovely and not one bit dry. Designed to be used as a pre-cleanser, you massage onto dry skin (which feels like a real pamper!) and wash off with warm water. Some people use it to remove eye make up but I don't recommend that because it stings like a bitch! Afterwards I use No7's Hot Cloth Cleanser which I really enjoy using but I'd like to try out more products by this brand. I bought this on offer for about £7 but I think the usual prices are no more than around £15 which is good news for someone like me who resents spending money on skincare and beauty when it could be used on shoes! Also, this photo was taken one week after I'd been using it every day, twice a day and it looks unused so I reckon it's amazing value for money. When it runs out I'd love to try the Rose one, I've read amazing reviews and I love rose scented products.

From Friday to Wednesday it's just gonna be me and this little guy home alone because the parentals have gone off to Spain (alrite for some haha!) Well, my twin is still here but he doesn't count because he's like never in. Freddy's leg (and butt for some unknown reason, he now has a ass like a baboon and it's making him feel cold) is currently shaved from where he had an op last week to check out his ear. He's fine now but he still has to go back on Thursday for yet another appointment, poor boy! I hate taking him to the vets because he gets so afraid. But he's feeling fine, I however really ain't. I have a feeling IVs are the on the cards, I think I've caught another virusy thing and I feel like poop. I'm all coughing up blood and so breathless, even putting on a pair of socks is a struggle. It's made me realise how much I rely on other people for things because whilst I'm by myself it's real hard to do even little things like cook dinner when I'm this ill. I have family I can call, that I can even go and stay with if I need to but I think I want to try and cope by myself, to stop being a pusssssaaaay and get on with it. I should get myself down the hospital really but I'm too afraid that they'll try and keep me in...ain't nobody got time fo' that! I'll just see how I go, in the meantime I gotta take yet more time off work which I just hate doing, hate being a letdown!

To end this post on kinda a happy thing (because that last paragraph was a bit of a downer wasn't it!) I only very recently discovered Give As You Live. It's basically a way to raise money for your chosen charity as you shop online, without costing you a penny extra! It's so simple to install (if a doofus like me can do it you deffo can) so go ahead and DO IT because not only will you be doing a lovely thing for charidee the fact that you're doing a good deed takes away the guilt you feel when you place another cheeky ASOS order (if you're stuck with choosing a charity the Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a great cause *winkwink*) My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner, all that money I could have raised for CF!

  1. I love your necklace Josie and the cleanser sounds good. Sam had to go to the vets recently to have a tick removed from his penis. Bloody hell!

  10. I hate it when products don't have pumps! My Revlon foundation doesn't, and I end up wasting so much because it's difficult to get the right amount out (first world problems, I know). You look so pretty in your selfie, I have no shame with posting them either (though I limit myself to <1 a week haha) xx

  18. I'm the same when it comes to jewellery... i hardly ever buy any because it's just something that doesn't really bother me, but that necklace is gooorgeous. I hope that both of you are feeling better soon, trips to the hospital don't ever sound appealing. xxx

  19. Love the idea of Give as you Live, so much money raised for good causes. Don't you worry about letting work down lovely, they understand and nobody would want you to go in and make yourself more poorly. You just rest up and enjoy having your parents back to help with stuff :) I hope Freddy is ok, poor Freddy he has been having a tough time of it lately hasn't he. xxx
