FASHION | Suede Shoes x 2

Dorothy Perkins Mid Heel Pointed Courts
Dorothy Perkins - available here

Ok, suede look but shhh! Not very practical at all in this current rainy weather but I'll always have a thing for suede shoes.

The first pair were bought from Dorothy Perkins for a bargain £15.20, they were just what I was looking for. I appreciate sky high stiletto heels but only from afar, I'm like Bambi on ice in sneakers so low is the way to go for me. I know mid and kitten heels get a real bad rap but I think they can be so chic when worn with the right outfit. Yes, they'll look naff with your proper going out out dress, in fact they'll frumpify most skirts and dresses but consider them with cropped (preferably leather) trousers or with skinny jeans and a flash of ankle. Pop on a simple, fitted sweater or a perfectly cut blazer and helloooo perfect party outfit...look no further than the one and only Emmanuelle Alt for inspiration (although of course hers would be real suede and probably made by Jimmy Choo but hey, I'm on a shop girl's budget not a Vogue Editor's!) I like wearing leather skirts and trousers and these are the perfect heels to wear with them as they're quite conservative...anything higher and I'd feel a bit hookerish! I wore these the other night (see here) and they were so comfy as well.

New Look - available here

Next up are these little Mary Jane pumps, which have since gone down to a bargain £12.50 on ASOS. I bought these because I needed a pair of smart flats to wear to a wedding but I've since gotten a lot more wear out of them than I thought I would. Worn with little A-line skirts and tights they're super cute and they dress up my usual denim. I love the slight Sixties vibe they give to outfits and I won't lie, they make me want to go around tap dancing (which I can try if I want they're that comfortable!)

I'm not afraid to splash out on footwear but I think if you have a search amongst all the crappy tat you can find some great bargains on the high street. Tell me about your recent shoe finds!

  8. The first pair are right up my street! I can't manage in heels either, J hates kitten heels with a passion but it's all I can handle haha. Such a bargain too! I want those studded Valentino pumps...

  10. LOVE both pairs. You can never go wrong with black courts. And I'd been eyeing up those New Look Mary Janes for a while! Think they are sold through ASOS too so I'm always really tempted to add them to an order! x x

  11. I love kitten heels when they're worn with the right outfit, I always stick to flats because I can't deal with any kind of heel but these are so lovely. Totally in love with those Mary Jane pumps, what a bargain!

  13. I always stick to flats, because despite numerous years of trying, I just can't walk in heels! I don't know what's wrong with me aha. I love the little Mary Jane pumps, they are so cute! Merry Christmas sweet! <3 xxx

  14. I love both of these :) I can't walk in heels either so I always get excited about finding a decent pair of flats! xx

  15. You look stunning in your Instagram photo Josie! I've been searching for a heel like this, low but not quite low enough to be a kitten heel. I'm not really a fan of kitten heels (so you're right!) but I could rival your Bambi skills in skyscraper heels when sober! I can imagine these would look perfect with your cropped trousers. I've been living in my leather chelsea boots from TK Maxx this Winter, they were such a good buy :) xxx

    1. P.s. I love that you've used the illustration on your new header!! :) thanks for mentioning me too lovely - you didn't have to do that :) xxx
