BEAUTY | New No7 Buys

no7 pop & glow blush review

I recently did a huge cull of my make up drawer (I had nail polishes from 2009, my bad) and while the contents aren't perhaps the most exciting I'm not really one to switch up my beauty looks so I just have the bare minimum of what I need which suits me just fine! But on closer inspection it was looking a little too sparse...I didn't own a single blush or eye colour! So after being continually impressed with No7 products (see here, here and here) that was where I went. Plus they had a free gift when you buy two products which definitely appealed!

I plumped for the Pop and Glow Cream Blush Stick in Rose Blossom which looks scarily bright when you swatch it but is actually really wearable and natural looking. I only apply a tiny bit for a really subtle look but you can layer it for a stronger look if you're feeling brave! You just apply straight from the bullet and blend in with your fingers, it's really fuss-free and super quick. I then got the Stay Perfect Shade and Define in Cool Mink, at first I thought it would drag across the skin but it's so soft and applies really easily. It's really pigmented too and again, quick to do. I'm definitely going to pick up more of these, Glistening Ray, Velvet Truffle and Pink Pearl are on my wishlist! Although I do always wonder if eyeshadow is a waste of time on me as it's barely visible on my deep set eyes. As for the free gift, I probably won't use any of it lovely as it is so I'll be passing it on to my mum and friends (apart from the mascara, as it's waterproof it's good for bottom lashes!)

I tried the Alexa Chung tutorial by Lisa Eldridge (who else has watched it a million times?) using a little No7 Instant Radiance Foundation in Calico, No7 Instant Radiance HighlighterL'Oreal Brow Artiste pencil in Dark Brun, Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner and Maybelline Falsies Mascara with my new blush and shadow, keeping my lips natural. Unfortunately all that effort did not make me look like Alexa.

It's a bit too heavy for me I think  for day to day wear but if I need to glam up a bit it might be nice! But what do you think? Have you tried any of these products before?

  2. That's a fab look for you! I don't think it's too OTT for the day at all but if you aren't used to that much make up then it will seem a bit heavy.

I'm not a fan of cream blush. I can

  19. It looks lovely on you, I wouldn't say it's too OTT for daytime but then I do wear a lot, so it's all relative! ;) I'm the same with eyeshadow, it's wasted on me as my eyes are really deep set as well... Also, I want your skin too, it's so clear & porcelain! Jealous!
