Dress | c/o French Connection
Shoes | Topshop (sold out, similar here)

As you know I don't wear many dresses but there are a few I make exceptions for, like this beaut from French Connection. It's black (although it's also available in cream if you're slightly less of a colourphobe) not too short and I always fall for a pretty back detail. I love the sleeves too because I don't really like getting my arms out and the lacey, puffiness of them is a subtle nod to next season's Victoriana trend. I'm planning on wearing this on a big night out at the end of the month and it's gonna look fab vamped up with a red lip and amazing clutch bag for the festive season (yep, I'm talking about it already...it's just my favourite time of year!)

Hope you've had a wonderful weekend, last night I was out celebrating my best friend's 21st (this is what I wore) and we were reminiscing, like that time in Yr10 I booted a ball into some unsuspecting girl's face and basically nearly knocked her head off. Me, who was useless at sport (so useless that we were actually playing netball and I didn't know you didn't kick the ball) managed to do this superpower kick and she just sat there on the floor for ages not moving and we couldn't even help her because we were just doing that laughter where nothing comes out and you can't breathe it's that funny. The worst thing is I blamed another girl (who weirdly didn't deny it.) Anyway whilst I'd love to stay in bed all day I have to go to something kinda important. I'm like free all the time and then something comes up on the one day I want spare. Le sigh. Anyway I'll be back maybe tomorrow or Wednesday with a little life update, I feel like you and I haven't chatted for a while!

  1. You look absolutely beautiful! What a classy dress! I am not usually drawn to black (or neutrals for that matter) but if I ever need a black dress (actually, who doesn't need one? definitely on my to-buy list!), I would get one with a similar style to this one. You're gonna look fabulous when you wear it out on the town! :)

Love the cute puffed sleeves, what a lush detail. I am jealous, so if you ever decide there is no more room for it in your wardrobe, offer me first refusal :)

  14. I have fallen in love with the back detail of that dress, urgh, stunning! I was a klutz in PE at school too. I remember this one time we were playing dodge ball and I was completely cornered by this one girl but I somehow managed to escape with a ninja-esque matrix move haha. Safe to say that was the one and only time I excelled at sports!
