LIFESTYLE | Resolutions

Erm, how is it the last day of the year already? Such madness! I must say this year has been so difficult at times, I won't go too much into it as most of it isn't my business to tell but I'll tell you this...if you and your loved ones have good health, then you have everything. When that is compromised and totally out of your control you realise how easily everything else in your life can be dictated in comparison. Yes, it may be difficult at times but it's always doable, even if you just have to take a different way of looking at things.

Bearing that in mind I do have a few goals for 2015. I don't believe in resolutions as such, I mean if you want to do something or change your life why wait? JUST DO IT. So these are things I've started doing already and want to carry on doing.

1 | Improve the blog. Don't get me wrong, I do quite like my little space on the internet but there are things I'd like to do that'd make me happier with it. Just little things like being more organised and making more effort with my photos.

2 | Improve my health. Ok so this is one I am constantly battling with (CF is no picnic!) but after spending most of this year with a low lung function, the average being about 35%, I finally hit the 40% mark for the first time in months just before Christmas. I've always been compliant with my medicines and treatments but I've made myself a much stricter routine with them. Yes, it kind of sucks because it does make me feel even more tied down to my treatment regime but even though it's more time consuming it's actually given me more freedom. For the first time in a long time I can just run upstairs without even thinking about it, for ages it would be a real struggle to get up them and then at the top I'd have a huge coughing fit. It's so nice to do a simple thing like climb the stairs and I definitely don't take it for granted at all! As I'm getting older I'm realising I'm having to work a lot harder to stay well but it's worth the extra work. One day I'll decline and there'll be nothing I can do about it, so I'd like that day to be as far off as possible! Over the past year the damage to my lungs hasn't been too drastic so I'm sure I'll be able to improve my lung function even more :D Who knows, I may even hit 50%!

3 | Improve Frojo Designs. When I set up my Etsy I thought that maybe my Nan would buy some cards haha but to my surprise I've sold them to strangers from all over the world! I honestly thought I'd sell like 10 at the most this year but I've done better than I expected so I'd like to give it 110% at least instead of treating it as a little hobby. On the subject of Frojo Designs I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU for buying, supporting, tweeting etc my charity Christmas cards this year, you helped raise a total of £202 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which I am super chuffed about! Next year I hope to be much more prepared so I can raise more money.

So there's my 'resolutions', nothing major but just things that give me a focus. I'd love to know if you've done a similar post, link me up and tell me what you'd like to achieve in 2015. On that note, have a very happy New Year and I'll speak to you next year ;)

  16. This is lovely! The fact that we take simple things like climbing the stairs for granted is quite sad. To be honest, a lot of us, in this day and age, think about material things and get upset that we 'don't have the latest Louis Vuitton' (okay, exaggeration, but you get the gist) yet we cannot appreciate what we DO have. Taking a step back is so important and one that I wish to do more of!

Wishing you all the best for 2015, may it be a fabulous year! <3

  32. Happy New Year lovely! Its good news to hear the lungs are doing better and you are feeling more motivated with your treatment. I have a few goals too, to go back to CBT and have a refresher of all the techniques that kept my anxiety at bay, and to be more motivated with work, and not to take it personal when things dont always go my way.
