BEAUTY | Nail Colour Collection Part #1

I remember back in the day when I'd go a bit insane with my nails and paint them the brightest colours I could find but now I prefer a much more subtle look. Mainly because when they chip it's less noticeable (and therefore less irritating) and when I'm making cards for my shop colours can rub off on them which is highly annoying! I actually had a big cull of my beauty drawer before the New Year and now I'm left with a much smaller collection but at least they all actually get used!

- Nails Inc. Marylebone Mews was actually a freebie with Glamour magazine and is my new obsession. The perfect greige shade in my opinion and I wore this for a week with zero chips.

- Next we have Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Little Bo Peep which is the only grey I've found that doesn't give me corpse hands (being so pale this is a problem with lighter shades!) I love the 60 Second range, they're such bargains and I find them to be long lasting. Big fan of the wider brush too! Although since this photo was taken it's been chucked because I used it all up (must be love!)

- Nails Inc. Porchester Square is hailed as a  'Hero Shade' and I couldn't agree more, it's a perfect nudey shade that goes with everything and looks really chic on.

- Finally, for when I'm feeling fancy, there's Chanel Le Vernis in Pirate. I would say it looks like a true red in the bottle but unless you do a a few layers it looks pinky red on. The staying power isn't any better than Nails Inc, I find the brush to be a little fiddly and it does need a good few coats before it's opaque but once it's on it looks really expensive and I get so many compliments. Plus who can resist those double C's sitting on their dressing table?

What are your staple shades? I'll show you the rest of my collection soon!

  1. I own TONNES of nail polishes but one of my favourite's is my Chanel 'Holiday'. It just makes you feel so fancy and sophisticated.. just saying that you're wearing Chanel does haha ;) The red is a lovely colour as well - I don't think you should be allowed to post about nice things if we're on a ban yunno ;) xx

  2. I love that Rimmel line too but they run out so fast for me! I really only paint my nails red and am really diligent about re-painting when there's any chips etc. so the little pots just don't last long enough. I totally feel you on the colour transferring too, when I worked at a legal office I had a few mini heart attacks when I realised my nail polish had done it on important legal documents!! I think my favourite range so far has to be the Revlon ones. I can't remember names at the moment as I'm not home, but I'm always really happy with them! x

  6. I love this! I used to wear tons of colors on my nails too, but now I go for more neutral shades for the same reason as you.. it's less noticable when they chip.

Thanks for some great color tips I'm going to have to try both of the Nails Inc ones :)

  18. Marylebone Mews and Porchester Square are two of my go to shades, gotta love Nails Inc! I definitely understand the corpse hands problem, but the good thing about having pale skin is that red shades always look lush :) xx
