Yes, that is actually me in a dress and not in any kind of denim. As you know I live in skinnies and sneakers so when Boohoo asked me to choose one of their amazing prom dresses I was definitely a little out of my comfort zone. In the end I went for the Sally Dress as it's 1) black 2) t-shirt shaped 3) has some kind of stripes in it and 4) it's the kinda thing you can eat ALL the food in. Paired with my usual leather jacket and heels I can actually walk in this dress is actually not so scary and is something I felt really comfortable in! It's going to be perfect for a birthday meal I have coming up too, usually I'd have stuck to a jeans/blazer combo but I'm looking forward to trying something a little different for me. I may even have to browse the rest of Boohoo's dresses...

Oh, you may have noticed that these are outdoor pics! I know right? Only in my garden, but still. My camera's broken so I had to resort to iPhone pics, thankoo mummy for these! It really wasn't as cringey as I thought asking for outfit pics help so if you wanna ask someone but are feeling shy just do it...people are a lot kinder than you think ;) Although you can tell how awky I was feeling by these pics and I can see why bloggers are always wearing sunnies now...hellooo Mrs Squinty!

What do you think? Are dresses your kinda thing or are you like me and stick to jeans?

  9. I think you look lovely in your new dress! I think it's one of those dresses that you'd get a lot of wear out of too :) I tend to wear a bit of a mixture! xxx

  10. I love the dress! It's so awkward asking people to take photos, my housemates have taken mine in the past and I can't say it's been my favourite thing in the world haha.

Hope your camera gets fixed soon.

  21. I need to invest in a leather jacket - not had one for a few years and I love them as they toughen up an outfit - love the look here!

And the stripes are so cute. Bold yet not in your face!

You look gorgeous. I'd wear dresses if I didn't manage to make every dress look like a potato sack.

  26. I love the shape of this dress on you! The striped detail is soooo cute. I've never bought dresses from Boohoo but have a friend who swears by them so perhaps it's high time I did next time I'm in need of one. Loving the outdoor photos, you're mum deserves a pat on the back for her skills. I tried to get my mum to take some long ago - and, well, let's just say I haven't asked her again, bless.

And I'm glad you've started taking pictures outside! I still find it a bit cringey myself, but I think I have the tendency to be camera shy.
