FASHION | Pieces That Work For Any Job Interview

So I think we can all agree that this year has gone super fast! Lots of people will be finishing uni soon and having to check out job vacancies which has gotta be one of the most nerve wrecking things ever. I know when I was job hunting a big worry for me was, as always, what to wear? But I think there are a few key pieces that will work for any job interview, from office based roles to jobs in the creative industry.

Whatever role you're going for it's obviously important to be smart and a blazer instantly smartens up any outfit, the same goes for a white shirt and tailored trousers. They look great worn together when you have to be formal and individually they look good worn with more casual or trend pieces for retail roles for example. They're just so versatile which is great because you can adapt them to fit the job you're going for, so you won't have to spend loads on lots of different outfits for different jobs. I think loafers are a brilliant shoe, they look smart and are super comfortable which is a must for interviews...they're already quite uncomfortable situations without wearing shoes that kill your feet! Finally my number one tip would be wear a watch...it just gives off a good impression of someone who is organised and efficient.

What are your top tips for interview outfits? What did you wear to nab your job?

  1. Is it me or is the fact I have an interview today, and the fact you've written this, a massive coincidence?! But you're dead right, smart, smart & smart is always key! You've chosen some great picks xx

  6. This is wonderful Josie! Love all your chic, tailored picks. I usually wear a blazer for any job interviews but my current one is from Primark and has stuffed tissue in the shoulders so I always feel like I'm rustling around like a hamster in hay every time I so much as move during an interview haha. I really need to update my wardrobe for smarter work pieces. I love the New Look watch, I thought it was a designer piece at first glance. And the Uniqlo blouse is really stunning yet smart.

I'm currently keenly job hunting and I'm always, always, always struggling with what the hell to wear for an interview. So this post has come at a fab time for me! Loving all the inspo <3

I think classic pieces like these are always a good idea. My personal favorite is the white skirt.

  25. Great choices a blazer is always a good option but I would wear a dress rather than trousers. The shoes are perfect as they are smart but being patent still have some interest Lucy x

  31. My blazers are actually kind of the most fun I have in my work wardrobe. They have cool zippers and are cropped, or bright colors because I can't really do too much else. Am I the only one?!
