FASHION | The Button Down Denim Skirt

Let me take you back to the Spring/Summer 2010 shows when Stella McCartney sent this beaut of a skirt down the runway. Five years on it was still on my mind so I was super pleased to find this button down denim skirt on ASOS! I now have the skirt of my dreams <3 I'm not majorly keen on this 70's throwback trend but I'm grateful for the return of these little button minis.

Shirt | Uniqlo
Skirt | ASOS (for a non-tall option Urban Outfitters do a similar one here)
Shoes | Topshop (similar here)

I love how the buttons are real ones and not those popper things, poppers on skirts are the worst design ever because you sit down and they all undo! The denim feels so sturdy too, I hate wearing flimsy skirts that fly about in windy weather. I had to order from ASOS Tall as the regular had sold out but it's actually not too long on me at all, it's probably a better fit as I don't have to worry about flashing my granny pants to the world...the world ain't ready for that, trust me! The world is also not quite ready to see my feet yet as it's been ages since I bothered to do a pedicure (lovely image for you there, sorry!) otherwise I would've liked to have worn this with brown leather sandals. Actually thinking about it, I don't think I own brown leather sandals any more. I did have a great pair from Primark in the sale a few years back for £3, I definitely should have stocked up on those!

Aaaaanyway, tomorrow I'll be in hospital for a day or two as I'm having sinus surgery and septoplasty (it genuinely is for my sinuses, not a secret nose job or anything lololol) but for once in my life I am organised so there should still be content on here if all goes to plan! I hope you're well and I shall speak to you soon hopefully!

What do you think of the 70's revival? And does anyone know where the sun has gone? Because it's definitely too cold to get away with outfits like this right now!

Your photos are awesome too, I'm looking to get a new camera that's not as bulky as my actual photog one so I'll have to flick back through to see which one you got again, I only remember it being white I think?! xx

  22. I am the same as you, same of the 70's trend just seem a bit too far out, but this skirt with the button downs is really growing on me (must find a black or white version of it) to try and see if it suits me. It really suits you.
Over here the sun is shining but the weather is still too cold, can't wait for summer xx
