The 'Shacket'

So when I was in Ireland my nan and grandad were super kind and gave me some spending money so I picked up a couple of things (mini haul coming soon!) I love the Topshop there so much, it's just a small section in a shop that's kind of like Outfit but they always seem to have the stuff that's sold out over here in there, in my size - whoop! I made a beeline for this jacket/shirt hybrid, I've wanted it for ages but didn't have the pounds so when I had the euros it was mineeee.

Jacket - Topshop
Coated Jeans - Zara (similar here)
Sunglasses - Ray Ban

I don't really buy a lot of things in Topshop because a lot of it is a bit too trendy for me (plus a bit too overpriced) but I've picked up some real classic gems in there - like my denim shirt, chelsea boots and chambray shirt. This jacket (or 'shacket' as it's described on the site) is another one to add to the collection of amazing finds, I've literally been looking for one like this for years. It's a good, thick material and just the kind of thing that's perfect to chuck on when it gets a bit chillier in the warmer months. It looks so good layered under a leather jacket and I'm definitely going to be trying it out as a shirt too!

The only slight problem with it is the colour. I don't even know why I'm telling you this story because it's gross but once I was on a night out and was only a lil drunk and I was eating olives that were the exact same shade of green. When I got home I was so ill and honestly even typing the word o-l-i-v-e makes me gag haha so when I see this jacket I'm a bit like bleurgh but I'm trying to get over this because really the colour is the perfect shade. You probably really didn't want to know that ick story.

You like? What reminds you of bad, drunk times?

  6. I think the beauty of the jacket outweighs the bad drunk memory ;) I don't go in topshop very often at all now because it is a bit overpriced but this really is a great find just emphasising that some finds are worth the investment! xxx

  8. I get you on the 'trendiness' of Topshop, whenever I'm in a city I think going into a Topshop is a good idea? It isn't? I just get intimidated and feel even more grandmotherly than normal. The jacket is so nice, and despite the unfortunate colour associations, the colour looks really good on you! The only thing that reminds me of too drunk times is, predictably, vodka. I haven't touched the devil since I spent a night with my head in a toilet bowl/sleeping next to it. NOT MY CLASSIEST MOMENT. Though, now that I think about it, is there such a thing as a classy moment with vodka... My experience says no! x

  9. Fab shacket!

I think I've only ever bought a few things from Topshop in my entire life - I can never justify their prices unless it's something I know I will get a lot of use out of.

  10. The 'shacket' looks so nice against your hair colour! This is really strange - I used to be an avid follower of your blog a few years ago now and you're still blogging and it made me so happy - I felt so behind with the times but it's good to see a familiar face doing so well! You're looking as fashionable as ever :-)

  15. I love your jacket, it's so cool! I don't tend to go in Topshop much these days, because as you said, it does seem a tad overpriced! They do have some great pieces in there though, I wish it could be like the old days when it was super affordable! xxx

  19. I really like this outfit Josie, it suits you so well! Vivid, kind of electric, blue disgusts me because of this gross shot I drunk (wayyy back in high school, I don't touch alcohol now) once and everytime I see that colour I almost gag so I totally understand you ahaha! xx
