BEAUTY | The Berry Lip

Lately I've been way more into beauty than clothes (never thought I'd ever be saying that!) so when I had a voucher burning a hole in my pocket I decided to check out the beauty halls instead of splurging it all in Zara. The original plan was to try out a MAC lipstick but the queue was insane so I ended up at the Chanel stand, again. But there's just something about those double C's (me, shallow?) and that *click* that's just so satisfying! I knew I wanted to add another Rouge Allure Velvet to my collection because the formula works so well for me and after trying a few different shades I plumped for L'Amoureuse.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet L'Amoureuse

The formula is exactly what I've come to expect from this range...it's super long-lasting, with what I'd describe as a semi matte finish and it's not at all drying. The colour isn't actually too far off my natural lip colour, it's just a little more berry toned. It's so rare for me to find a pink I like (I think I'm a bit too ginge to pull them off!) but I adore this. Maybe for some it might be more of an Autumn/Winter shade but on the first application it's a bit lighter than it looks...it's definitely one you can build up to get a more intense, deeper colour which I love because you're almost getting two lipsticks for the price of one! I like that the colour isn't too in your face that I feel self concious about it going everywhere (like that time before...) but is still pigmented enough to add a lil summin' summin' to a plain face.

I know £26 for a lipstick is expensive but they're the one piece of make up I ever go high end with and I only buy like one a year so it's very much loved and appreciated! And I won't lie, my little family of Chanel lip colours look so cute on my dressing table.

What do you think? What's your favourite lipstick brand? Check out my review of La Fascinante here!

  2. This colour is gorgeous!!! And I always buy Chanel lipstick, I find that the price is totally worth it. Everything else I have tried tends to dry out my lips, which is not a good look! Love love love this. <3

  14. gorgeous shade, it looks so pretty on you! I haven't tried any Chanel (or MAC lipsticks for that matter) - I think I need to ask for a high end lipstick for my Birthday. Buying one a year sounds like such a good tradition as then it's not too over-indulgent. xx

  17. I love the moodiness of the color, like you said it's more of a winter/fall color. But I'd rock it whenever. :]
