An Evening Skincare Routine For Lazy Girls Like Me

So lately I've realised I need to pull my socks up when it comes to looking after my skin! I may feel ill most of the time but I certainly don't want to look it - however when I am unwell it's my skin that gives away the tell tale signs straightaway. Also 6x a day every day I use a face mask nebuliser (this thing) which leaves my skin in a bit of a state as it really dries it out. I am very lazy with skincare (I know, my bad) but this super quick routine after cleansing in the evenings takes a couple of minutes and my skin is definitely thanking me for making that teeny bit of effort!

Origins High-potency Night-A-Mins Skin renewing face oil review

So I begin with Clinique's All About Eyes Rich eye cream which as you can see is on it's way out! To be honest I don't think any cream is going to reduce my dark circles as I very rarely get a decent nights sleep but under my eyes were so dry before. Now they're moisturised it's making applying concealer to the area a dream so it's so much easier to hide the panda eyes.

Next up is Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum*, I've reviewed this in full but I'm just including it again because I love it and I don't like to have too many different products on the go at once because I think it makes my skin freak out a lot! But to recap this is a lovely, lightweight serum that sinks in super quickly (speediness is important to me when I'm desperate to get in bed and snooze) and leaves skin silky soft. I've found this acts as a great primer for make up too as it really smooths the skin out so I've been using it before applying my favourite foundation.

Finally, a newbie. I was lucky enough to receive a preview of the Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins Skin Refining Oil* when I attended an Origins event a few weeks ago and after trialling it out ever since it is love. I really like The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum-In-Oil but as the nights are starting to get warmer I'm finding it slightly too heavy so I stopped using it a while back. This Origins option is much lighter and when I initially applied it because it sunk in so quickly and didn't really leave my skin with that sheen that you get with oils, I must admit I was a bit disappointed! I honestly thought it wouldn't have any effect on my skin at all but I was so wrong because when I woke the next day my skin was so soft and smooth and glowy. Since the first time I've started using this my skin has improved so much, it feels bouncier and plumper, just all round healthier really. It sounds weird but I literally can't stop touching my face! Keep an eye out for this little bottle of loveliness, if only to smell it - vanilla and neroli, I shall say no more.

This routine must be doing something right because everyone keeps saying how well I look when the reality is I feel like absolute poop haha! But there's less redness and ickness, here's a photo of me on a real sick day but my skin (bar the dark circles) wasn't looking too bad at all if I do say so myself *inserts sassy hand girl emoji* I used to be so sceptical of skincare but this has proved to me it's so worth having some kind of routine, no matter how small!

What's your evening skincare routine? Or do you think it's all a load of faff?

I really need to get back into more of a routine. I always cleanse then use Pixi Glow but forget to moisturise! x

  3. sounds like your routine is really making a difference! I need to stop skipping on the eye cream, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with my routine, especially now that I'm moisturising twice a day xx

  6. I think your skin always looks soooo good! I haven't found anything that works miracles on dark circles but healgel eye did help a fair bit, sadly I've ran out and it's too pricy - wah! xxx

  7. I have completely lost my routine now that I've stopped wearing much make up - I'm like 'oh well, I don't wear much make up so what's the point?!' but it sounds like this working wonders! I need to try origins because I've heard so much wonderful stuff about them xx

  11. I need to do the same myself. I'm getting older and I need to stop pushing my luck. I've been curious about "Origins" in general. Your review is pushing me to go get some.

  17. My routine is just cleanser, serum, and moisturiser, simple but it seems to do the trick. Sometimes I add in a face mask (if I can be bothered!) The Origins serum sounds so lovely :) xx
