Week #18

Hey!! How are you doing? This week hasn't been great healthwise - I know, I know change the record. But alas, this is life right now and I've mainly just been sleeping when not doing extra treatment to try and kick these lungs into gear! So I shall be back to the CF clinic on Tuesday to see what's going on, they had to change someone else's appointment to fit me in - my bad and my apologies mystery patient.

Some Summer Favourites

I was actually there on Thursday, shall I tell you what happened? I dunno if this is TMI but then on the other hand I feel like we're all friends here! But it was a CT scan on my chest so they could get a better picture of my lungs, I basically just had to lie down with my arms above my head while my body went through this tunnel. They injected me with a dye that would make the vessels and whatnot show up clearer in the scan so I was just lying there all chilled out then I was like 'Wooooah, whatwhatwhat?' because I honestly thought I had peed myself. Yes, really. I was thinking do not pull me outta this scanner because now I can never leave it and show the world what has just happened but obviously I had not wet myself, a weird side effect of the dye was that it makes you feel like you have. Would've been handy if they'd told me that haha but praise the lord all was well. I would like that stuff to give to my enemies whilst they're sleeping, heehee. But yes, that was my weird moment of the week.

Not much else has happened, I did go to the opticians to rescue my lenses though - they sent a letter saying they were 'looking after them' (aka keep them hostage) til my next appointment so I thought I'd better go and save them. I'm also getting new glasses and prescription sunglasses, which if you need glasses you will understand is most exciting indeed.

But the highlight of the week was cuddles with baby Florrie. She kept pulling my oxygen off my face and she looked so pleased with herself every time she did it I didn't even care that I couldn't breathe :')

Have you had a good week? I hope you've had no awkward moments like me.

  4. Jeez as if they didn't tell you! Drs don't seem to realise that if we KNOW side effects of things, it's less scary when it happens! My dr told me not to look up the side effects of sertraline or it'd scare me, bloody well did scare me when I had a panic attack and got really dizzy and sick the first day of taking them *SIGH*. Hope you are feeling ok? I laughed at the bit about baba taking your oxygen mask off though, soz ;)

YES prescription sunglasses! Except I have no idea where mine are... whoops...

  27. I'm sorry you've not been feeling great. But you're right, those scanners can be quite a good place to chill out, I almost fell asleep in one once! But the dye sounds like it harshed your mellow (I can't pull off stoner talk can I?)
I've promised myself prescription sunglasses for years, I'm very jealous.
