#CurrysMovieNight

So the other weekend Joe Blogs invited me to the #CurrysMovieNight event and I jumped at the chance to go because we'd be watching Mean Girls (everyone's fave, amiright?) and also, it wasn't going to be any bog standard film showing - we'd be watching it on this:

The Floating Cinema

Yep, ON A CANAL BOAT! We all made our way to the King's Cross canal where we were welcomed aboard The Floating Cinema with champagne and smiles. I have to say the people who worked there were so, so lovely and told us a bit about the boat too, for example it's powered by a Hybrid Marine engine system that runs on bio-fuel so it's more environmentally friendly! The cinema room was great, at times you forgot you was even on a boat (apart from the odd wobble now and again!) We watched it on an Acer projector and the quality was great, no different to a TV screen I'd say.

The people that ran the boat were really attentive, our glasses were constantly topped up and we were treated to popcorn and sweets too! We decided to stand on deck (is that what you call it when you're on a barge? Me no know) to admire the scenery, it was just really chill and we were lucky that it was such a warm evening too.

It was all just so....charming! I now want a little barge to float around on all day. A big thanks to Joe Blogs and Curry's for a lovely evening! If you're looking to do something a little different for a birthday or something I couldn't recommend The Floating Cinema enough.

Have you ever been on a barge? Where's the strangest place you've ever been to see a movie?
