Blurb Photo Book Review

I love taking photos but like most people I'm so guilty of just leaving them in my memory card - it's rare that I actually get them printed so they often end up being forgotten about which is a real shame. So when I had the chance to review a photo book from Blurb* I was so excited to actually see some of my favourite shots in print!

Blurb have loads of different options when it comes to designing your book - you choose the size, type of paper, cover photos etc so it's entirely unique to you. Then for the inside you can either make your layout in Adobe InDesign or Lightroom or go for Bookwrite, which I used (it's free and super simple to use - if I can figure it out so can anyone!) I was worried I'd make the photos wonky or whatever because I'm terrible at any kind of design things on the computer haha but it was really easy to make sure things were the proper size and aligned. You also have the option to add captions, which I didn't do, but it's great if you want to create an extra special memory book for someone or even something like a cookbook would be a fun idea!

I actually think this would be a fab gift for a little one, my little cousin was chuffed to bits to see himself in a 'real book' (I've shown you pics of Freddydog and baby Florrie here but there's plenty of family photos in there too!) I'm so impressed with the quality, it's really professional looking and well made - I put a couple of sneaky iPhone pics in it and even they came out looking great and not at all blurry or fuzzy.

I just think it's beautiful and a really special thing to own - I think I'm going to make a few as gifts this Christmas as everyone's been saying they want a book like this too! And wouldn't it be great to make one for Florrie for her birthday for her to look back on (she'll be 1 in December, how has it gone so quickly?!) If you'd like to make one for yourself or as a gift make sure you check out places like www.myvouchercodes.co.uk  as they often have discount codes running!

What do you think of photobooks like this? What photos would you put in yours?
