Week #1

There's something that feels oddly satisfying about the title of this post - all fresh and new and exciting! I hope you're having a great start to the year already?

One of my lovely Christmas presents (from Boden, get it here!)

Usually this time of year I feel a bit melancholy because I panic about all the things I didn't achieve but for the first time since I can remember I was looking back on 2015 feeling so happy. Weird, because the way my health has declined has been pretty life changing and difficult but in between long hospital stays and feeling like poop I don't feel like I wasted a single minute. It's a cliché but it's definitely been a real year of highs and lows - like even the week when they told me I needed new lungs and I was pretty devastated I also saw Florence + The Machine and it was one of the best nights of my life! I feel like I've made the most of every day and I've been happy for the most part so I feel like 2015 was a very good year indeed.

Anyway on actual NYE like every year we had a party at our house so lucky for me I got to stay indoors without getting FOMO haha - definitely the best of both! This year was extra special because for the first time in ages my two best friends and I got to see in the New Year together (even if one was so drunk she missed the countdown pahaha but I won't say which!) It was so fun and I'm so lucky to have such understanding friends because I was feeling so rough so had to spend most of the night sitting down by my oxygen machine but they didn't make me feel like I was being a bore. I only had about 4 hours sleep though and I think I'm still paying for it now! My lungs have been right beans lately, even more so than usual - think they're starting the year as they mean to go on, cheers guys lololol.

So I've not been doing that much, mainly relaxing and waiting for Zara to do proper discounts rather than knock a tenner off an £80 coat - patience is definitely a virtue. I did buy a few nice bits from Topshop though, including my new little blazer that I am in love with! I wore it NYE (see here, I would've got better photos but by 8pm I was still in pyjamas with wet hair and guests were already arriving) and though I wasn't that glam I didn't wear jeans or trainers which is a start right? I actually have quite a few new bits to show you so I when I have a moment where my lungs aren't screaming at me every time I make any little movement I shall try and get some outfit pics for ya!

Well I hope you're good! What did you do for New Year's Eve?
