BEAUTY | L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Fine Hair Review

If you'd told me a couple of months ago that I'd be using a hair oil I'd have laughed in your face because I have a real thing about hating oily hair...so much so that I wash my hair daily, sometimes even twice which I know is so bad for it and is actually making it too dry. Until I could stop washing it every day I needed a solution and after seeing the wonders facial oil has done for my skin I thought I'd give oil a chance for my hair too. I was recommended the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil for Fine Hair by Kate (again, girl is the ultimate enabler haha!)

So I wash my hair every night, spritz about 4 or 5 sprays through the mid length and ends and leave it to air dry. I never brush my hair in the mornings so what you see in my outfit posts is what I wake up with...still has that messy look that I like but not a bit of frizz in sight! I was especially pleased at the difference at the ends, they no longer feel so dry and delicate. My hair is much less of a tangly mess in the evenings when it comes to brushing it, which was a real problem before. It's also made my hair look much fuller and I'm most definitely having less bad hair days since I started using this...basically, it's changed ma hurr's life! It's  lightweight enough to spray on dry hair just to add that extra bit of shine if  needed and I've gotta mention the scent...I don't know how to describe it but for example when I got hugged the other day the person said 'Oooh, you smell like a girl!' Dread to think what I smelt of before then...

All in all, a big thumbs up from me! I'd say it's perfect for people who, like me, are wary of oils as it's just so lightweight it's hard to get it wrong!

  2. Aah sounds great! I've never tried a hair oil, but maybe I'll give it a go. I'm trying to be better to my hair by never drying it (except my fringe) and using non-SLS shampoos. Luckily I only wash it 2-3 times a week, maybe you could try a dry shampoo so you don't have to wash your hair too much? xx

  3. Oh, I've been picking them up and putting them back on the shelf, for a while now, as hair oils scared me too... But this one sounds ace. My hair is in desperate need of some umph, and this might be the very thing to help!!

  4. Hehe you made me laugh with the 'smell like a girl' bit! I love hair oils, I personally don't mind slightly oily hair as it stops it getting dry! Xx

  12. I definitely agree with you that the thought of a hair oil just sounds horrible but you've changed my mind on this one! I'll have to look out for it xx

  13. This sounds gorgeous girl!

I'm an absolute novice when it comes to all things hair, but I'm always meaning to try a product like this, so I might have to give this a shot. I love the packaging too, very pretty (:

  14. I was exactly the same with face oils, and now I can't live without them! Sounds like a crazy idea, but it's amazing how well it works. I've never tried a hair oil though, this sounds very tempting to try out, I love anything that gives your hair that really well conditioned 'healthy' kind of look!

  15. This sounds great. I often put Moroccan oil in my hair, it makes it feel so soft.

  18. I find a lot of hair oils to be drying despite what they claim to do as they contain a lot of alcohol, this one looks really good though, may pick it up on my next boots haul :)

  19. This post could potentially be a life saver. Im exactly the same I hate greasy hair, I have curly hair and whenever I even try to use an anti frizz serum I end up with oily hair. I just don't take well to it! I really need something to look after it though and I've heard oil is amazing but haven't read a review of one that sounds not too oily (if that even makes sense)... This could be my answer to healthy hair!

  20. I normally avoid oils as I find them way too much for my fine hair, but I am interested in this as I keep hearing good things. Hopefully this might be oil to convert me!

Bahahaha! What! You smell like a girl, hmmm if someone said that to me I'd be in total shock. I have an issue with oily hair too that's why I stay away from oils and masks because I feel like they just make it too oily and stuff, but I suppose I should give it a go, my ends could do with some pampering.

  28. It sounds amazing! I'm so wary of anything that says oil in the name too, as I hate greasy oily looking hair and the feeling of it being so heavy. But I've been loving the Percy & Reed No Oil Hair Oil a lot lately, which I think is quite similar to this product maybe. Though if I didn't brush or do something with my hair it would never look as fab as yours! xxx
