Coat - H&M | Top - Olive | Denim - Zara | Shoes - Topshop | Hat - H&M
So I caved and bought some Birk-styley shoes. I was worried they were too man repelling but I repel the men no matter what shoe I wear so I may as well just wear whatever I like! I refuse to call them sliders because every time I see that word I just say it in the style of the annoying old people puppets on the Wonga ads (I know, I annoy the hell out of myself.) The old, frivolous me would've splurged on the real deal but I'm actually glad I'm poorer and had to resort to Topshop dupes because I think they look a lot nicer and dare I say it, even flattering! Very slimming on the leg. They're not as chunky on the foot and even my Birkenstock hating mother likes them. In fact, I've received quite a few compliments so maybe they're not so ugly after all. I really recommend these, the straps are adjustable which is great for those of us with narrower feet and they're moulded so the foot fits in them easier without slipping all over the place, which was a worry for me because I can't even walk in flip-flops! I'm still waiting for the day for them to go flying off my feet as I'm walking down the stairs or something but so far, so good.
The day they got their debut happened to be the day it absolutely chucked it down but you know when you have something new and you just wanna wear it right away? Expect to see these a lot, I can't wait to wear them with all my denim. It's gonna be a comfy summer!

I have these, both in Black and white. Aren't they just so comfortable, and a fraction of the price of the real Birkenstocks. Perfect.

Oh I really like these! They are a lot prettier than the real Birkenstock and so much more flattering. Lovely.

I think they're the right balance between ugly and aesthetically pleasing- clumpy shoes are on-trend anyway, so you still look utterly chic. You've styled them perfectly, you look so French! xx

ReplyDeleteI'm not really a fan of Birkenstocks (although that may be because I'm too scaredy to try them), but I love how you've teamed them with stripes and your hat, such a lesson in effortless class and style!
