Denim Skirt - A.P.C

Meet what was going to be February's piece! The most perfect skirt...on someone with shorter legs.

I'd been umming and ahhing over this for a good while and when I made a bit of money on eBay and was feeling ill Sunday night I just thought I'd go for it, especially because there was free premium delivery on Net-A-Porter which is the best, most pretentious thing ever. There's no man in a trackie who's all 'Alrite love, sign here please!' It's a smartly dressed man in black in the special van who's all 'Madam this, madam that, have a nice day madam.' It's hilarious!

Unfortunately the fit isn't quite right though, it's too short so it looks ridiculous which is a shame because it's a real nice skirt. It's made of Japanese raw denim so it's very sturdy which makes it feel less girly which is the reason I dislike wearing skirts most of the time...however this has a tomboyish feel to it which is why I like it so much. I'm disappointed because I had such plans for me and this skirt...it would have looked fab with Dickers and sweaters and bretons, basically all my favourite things! It just wasn't meant to be </3

But in typical Dozy Josie fashion I somehow got the Net-A-Porter tag caught in my shirt cuff button as I was trying it on and it fell off. You know, the tag that says 'Returns will only be accepted if this tag remains attached.' Foolishhhhh! I've emailed them so there may be a small chance they believe me I'm not a tramp who wears things and then returns them but I'm not holding out much hope. If not then I'll have to resell on eBay which isn't ideal but what can ya do?

So the search goes on! Although truth be told I'm not sure if skirts and dresses really suit me. Drop me an email if you wanna buy it off me though haha.

  2. The delivery man sounds amazing, is this a new thing? That skirt is a beaut but would also be way too short on me Such a shame it didn't work out, I hope they believe you!

  3. Awww no - I hate it when you finally get your mitts on something you want and it doesn't end up how you dreamt it haha!

  4. It's so pretty! A.P.C. makes gorgeous pieces. I remember when I got a couple of things from N.A.P when I won those gift certificates last year, you're so right about the pretence! I felt a bit embarrassed, because the guy was in this really nice car and dressed really nicely when I was in my pjs hahaha.
Shame it doesn't fit right :( xx

  5. Hi Josie, its such a cute, a pity about the fit, can you not wear it with tights in winter with it being too short? It could look cute, also, you can layer it with a different textured skirt underneath, that will create an interesting effect.

  7. Love the skirt!! Shame it's not quite the right fit, and even more of a shame about the returns label!! How typical is that? I hope they're understanding and you find 'the one' soon :) xx

  8. I think deliveries of all packages should be like that! Anyhoo, so sorry about the fit of the skirt not being right for you:( I do agree with Sam with her comment above. You can probably wear it layered over something.

  9. Oh no!!! That is absolutely gutting (about it being too short and loosing the tag)!!! I can only think of one solution, you are going to have to keep it and cut a small section out of your legs? :-P

  13. Ahh it sucks that you accidentally pulled the tag off, I really hope they believe you and let you return it! Shame it's too short, I bet it would have looked lovely on you. I think everything I've seen you wear suits you, including skirts and dresses, but especially skirts! You have the perfect figure for mini skirts :) xxx

  14. Oh noo! It's so nice, it's such a shame it doesn't look right on! :( I have a similar problem, cos my torso is pretty long compared to the rest of my body it makes all dresses/skirts so much shorter, pretty much anything labeled 'mini' will flash my bum! Ha. I hope they let you return it, I've done the same soo many times because I'm so clumsy, it's so annoying! I think it sounds like it was worth it just for the delivery guy though, soo funny! :D

  16. Cracking up at the story about the smartly dressed delivery man haha! What a shame it wasn't right; I could imagine you looking so stylish and really layering it well with a jumper, let's hope you find a better replacement soon. If it's any consolation I really envy your lovely long legs, I'd kill for longer pins... any chance you wanna swap with me and my humpty dumpty ones?! ;)
