Just before Christmas I went to Paris, I may have mentioned it once or twice. It was a big post transplant dream and I was lucky enough to squeeze it in before the new year! My mama and I were only there for two days so obviously didn't see everything but I loved every minute and already can't wait to go back. I also really, really want to go to Versailles more than anything! Here are some snapshots from the first day of our short but sweet visit.
We got the Eurostar from London on a busy Monday morning and dropped our bags off at our cute little hotel, Hotel Paradis, which was super near Gare Du Nord which was very handy indeed. It was small but had everything we wanted, including a bed with the sinkiest pillows, chic decor and most importantly, croissants. I'd definitely recommend it for the location alone as it's so central but also the staff are super friendly and helpful!
We went for a wander then hopped on the Metro (which is so much better than the Tube - you can even use WiFi haha!) and made our way to the Eiffel Tower. I know it's a bit of a love/hate thing but I think it's really pretty and something that I think everyone should go and see, it was such a dream. We made a booboo and didn't think to book it so we queued for ages but it was worth it! The views from the top were so stunning, I was a total wimp in the lift up and nearly chickened out but thankfully I stopped being such a baby.
It was bloody freezing at the top but absolutely beautiful watching Paris light up at night. And of course the infamous light show, personally I'm not too sure (it looked better from afar I think) but my mama loved it. I really hate heights but once you brave the journey up there it's one of the best things you'll ever do. Just look at those views! Then we finished our night with pizza and ice cream ready for a day of more sightseeing on Tuesday...
Have you been to Paris? Day Two is coming up soon!
